Who We Are
A little about Players Alliance HQ… We are an alliance of gamers, developers, and creators who believe that passion, not profits, should be at the heart of gaming. Our movement is fighting to take back the gaming industry from corporate giants and the executives who benefit from price gouging us, and end the exploitative practices that are killing games and impacting game quality.
We bring together gamers who are frustrated by an industry dominated by corporate business models designed to rip us off. That same greed erodes our basic consumer rights and kills gamer first experiences, and we stand firmly against it. But frustration alone is not enough. United, gamers can revolutionize gaming by organizing collective power rather than remaining isolated in frustration. That’s how we can build power and incite intrinsic and long-lasting change.
Not to be confused with The Players Alliance, a nonprofit organization focused on racial equity in Major League Baseball, Players Alliance HQ is exclusively dedicated to the video game industry and the rights of gamers and developers worldwide.
Our Mission
Our mission is to take back a gaming industry dominated by corporate greed. Today’s corporate giants run studios to maximize profit at the expense of good gaming experiences at the expense of passionate gamers, and at the expense of creators, artists, and developers. Executives exploit developers and push business models designed to rip gamers off. Left unchecked, these practices will redefine what gaming will become.
By organizing a movement of gamers to challenge these greedy practices, we are fighting for a future of gaming rooted in passion, creativity, and affordable, gamer first experiences. A future where the industry thrives because it is shaped by the people who make and play games, not just the ones who profit from it. We know better gaming is possible when we act and move in unity together, and everyone who joins our movement has a voice in shaping its future.
What We're Specifically Fighting For:
- Digital Ownership Rights: When you buy a game, you should own it. Server shutdowns, license revocations, and deactivated titles rob consumers of products they paid for.
- Transparency in Monetization: Loot boxes, gacha systems, and predatory FOMO mechanics are designed to exploit psychological vulnerabilities. We fight for full disclosure and fair pricing.
- Fair Pay and Conditions for Developers: Game developers face chronic crunch, mass layoffs, and AI-driven displacement while executives collect record compensation. We stand with game workers.
- An End to Monopolization: The consolidation of major studios under a handful of corporate publishers threatens creative diversity and gamer choice.
