What We’re Fighting For

Players Alliance HQ is fighting to hold corporate studios accountable to gamers and end the unchecked corporate greed making gaming worse. We are fighting for a lasting gaming industry built by the genuine love for gaming and inspired by pushing the boundaries of creativity.

The Industry Has a Problem. We're the Response.

Corporate greed is making gaming more expensive for everyone. Corporations are raising the prices for games, consoles and hardware while filling games with predatory monetization designed to make you overspend. At the same time, executives are laying off talented developers in favor of AI models that are devoid of the creativity that give games their soul. If left unchecked, the corporate giants will turn gaming into one of the most exploitative consumer industries in the world.

Our Rights as Gamers

Players Alliance HQ believes gamers must be protected from exploitative systems designed to manipulate spending or maximize addiction to overspend. Gamers should get exactly what they paid for, without manipulation or deception, without bait-and-switch, and without anti-consumer practices built on nickel-and-diming.

Organizing the Community

How We Build Power

We build power by uniting gamers who are frustrated, isolated, and ignored into a community capable of collective action. Gaming has millions of people who feel exploited by corporate greed, but without a way to take action, their anger remains individual. We turn that frustration into shared purpose and collective power.

Through community, storytelling, and organizing, we help gamers recognize their power as respected consumers who hold up the foundation of the industry. We shift people from feeling alone in their frustration to seeing themselves as part of a unified force that can push back against corporate giants, unfinished games, predatory monetization, and anti-consumer practices.

Our Campaigns

Block The EA Deal

Players Alliance HQ is leading a campaign to block the proposed $55 billion buyout of EA by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners. This deal threatens to accelerate a private equity takeover of the gaming industry that would worsen industry consumer standards, trigger mass AI-driven layoffs, raise prices across gaming, and concentrate even more corporate power in the hands of a few massive corporations.

How does this impact gamers?

Your favorite franchises become cash machines. EA owns Battlefield, The Sims, Apex Legends, Dragon Age, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, and the exclusive Star Wars game license. Private equity doesn’t buy companies to make great games, it buys them to extract value. That means studios get gutted, creative risk disappears, and beloved franchises get milked for sequels and battle passes instead of being made with care.

Prices go up. Quality goes down. Cost-cutting is the first move. The developers who actually make the games, artists, writers, QA testers, are the first to go, accelerating the AI-driven displacement already hitting the industry. Fewer people, more pressure, worse games at higher prices.

It sets a precedent the whole industry will follow. Microsoft bought Activision Blizzard. Sony acquired Bungie. Every deal normalizes the next one. If we don’t draw a line here, the gaming industry we love ends up owned by a handful of corporations with no interest in games, only profits.
